Giving

A message from our Giving Officer and the Finance Committee:

‘Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who give regularly to St Roberts and helped us with our last financial appeal, Bridging the Gap.

St Robert’s Church is blessed with a strong and vibrant community.  We bring people together in worship and fellowship, help nurture our young people and support those in need.

We are always here for you and everyone in and around Pannal and Burn Bridge. Our doors are always open.

However, these are challenging times, with the shadow of COVID-19 affecting us all in different ways, some visible and some invisible.

The reality is that whilst our finances improved last year, they are again under pressure as our income, particularly through fundraising events and activities has been falling significantly.  We will have to call upon our small reserves to meet our Parish Share commitments.

If you are in a position to do so, please would you review your regular giving and consider all the church brings to you, our community and those in need.  If you don’t already give regularly, please reflect on this and whether you could start.’

Giving through the Parish Giving Scheme is the best way to help our church’s finances as it reduces the administrative burden, makes reclaiming gift aid easier and allows you to retain your privacy.   It also offers you the option to increase your giving annually in line with inflation which means that giving can keep up with the increases in costs at church.  Click on the logo to find out how it works.

You might like to hear briefly from our Bishop Rt Rev. Nick Baines or our former Vicar Rev. Nigel Sinclair (now at St Margaret’s, Horsforth) who share their thoughts on, and experiences of the scheme. Click on their pictures to see a short video (2 to 2½ mins)

It is hoped that online application will be available soon, later this year…..watch this space!

In the meantime, while it is not possible to complete an application form online…..you can call 0333 002 1260, giving St Robert’s code number – 460646471 and complete the process very simply over the phone.  If you would prefer to complete a form manually and send it in by post, contact Lizzy Wild, our Giving Officer, via the email address below and she can let you have an appropriately accredited form for you to do this.  Alternatively you can collect an accredited form from the red box at the back of Church…..look out for the poster to show you where!

Our church is dedicated to St. Robert (1160-1218) who was a local man.      Read about him here
He supported those in need and found patrons to donate land and resources to support this Godly work.

Similarly, by supporting your church you are helping to secure the future mission and ministry of St Robert’s for this generation and generations to come.

You can give to many things, but the only people who will give to St Robert’s are the family of St Robert’s.
