Childrens Society Boxes

Janet Bates will be opening the boxes during May so please could you bring your boxes to Church on any Sunday in May and either pass them to Janet or leave them at the back of Church where they will be collected.

Church Tidy Up

Help needed on Fri evening May 9th 7 – 9pm/Sat 12th May 10am – 12 noon to tidy up the church following the decorating. Please come along and help.

Church photographic competition 2012

The deadline for entries has been extended until Sunday at 7pm.

You can view the photos in church on Friday May 18th 6.30 – 8.30pm and Saturday May 19th 2 – 5pm. Refreshments served, stationery sale, raffle, second-hand books (for which donations are welcome).

All proceeds are going towards refurbishment of the church and new nave doors.

The interior of church is being painted from Tuesday onwards. Help is needed to clear the church any time after the 9.30 service on Sunday and Monday.

Open Church on Good Friday at St Roberts

On Good Friday (6th April) the church will be open from 12 noon until 3pm.  All are welcome to come into church for quiet time, prayer, meditation and reflection at any point during that time – you can come into church for quiet time, prayer, meditation and reflection at any point during that time – you can call in for as short or as long a time as you want to.  This is an opportunity to pause during the day to remember Jesus’ last three hours on the cross and to comtemplate what that may mean for each of us today.  This will be in addition to the usual Family Service at 10.00am and the Burial of Christ Service at 7.00pm.

PANNAL MOTHERS’ UNION

M U members are making donations in memory of a loved one.

For any members of the congregation wishing to make a donation to this appeal, there will be a box at the back of Church until the end of March.

Mothers Union on the Move Quiz

A challenging national quiz awaits you at the back of church – £1 per sheet.

The Electoral Roll

With effect from 11th March and until 1st April, the electoral roll will be updated. If you wish to stand for churchwarden or be on the PCC and similarly vote for nominees for these positions, your name should be on the roll. Everyone over the age of 16, who attends Pannal Church, can be included.

Crimple Valley Fresh have taken over the Post Office and opened a new village shop. All existing Post Office services have been maintained and there is a newly refurbished shop selling fresh local fruit and vegetables, fresh and cooked meats, bread, dairy produce, pizzas, pies and a range of deli items as well as the usual sweets, magazines and newspapers. They will no longer be in the church car park each Wednesday.

PANNAL MOTHERS’ UNION

Once again, to mark Mothering Sunday, Pannal branch members are supporting the “Make a Mother’s Day “appeal. The donations will enable M U projects to improve the lives of mothers and carers around the world, and through them, families and communities. There are more details on the M U notice board in the Chapter House.

Jubilee Coffee Morning

The Church Wardens would like to say a huge thank you for each and every person involved in Wednesdays coffee morning. It was a lovely occasion and to date has raised £250.

JUNIOR CHURCH

There will be no Junior Church for Indigo Group this Sunday but these children are welcome to stay in church or help in another group.

Please note there will be no Junior Church on 18th March as there is a family service for all to celebrate Mothering Sunday

March 4th

JUBILEE COFFEE MORNING MARCH 7TH

Funds are being raised to redecorate the church and install some new doors to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  There will be a coffee morning on Wednesday 7th March with a book stall, cake stall and a stall selling cards and wrapping paper.

If you are able to donate buns, cakes or biscuits for the cake stall, please bring into church on Sunday 4th March through to the Wednesday morning.

It would also be great to see you there from 9.00am.

Also ‘Poverty and Pastries’ event Sat 17th March at St. Robert’s Church 10am – 12pm

Bags 2 Church

This will also take place on 7th March.  Please bring any clothes, shoes, blankets, bedding or curtains.  Bags can be brought anytime when church is open and left for collection.  Please note that we are expecting the van to arrive early on the 7th (around 9am) so if you are planning on coming to the coffee morning and have bags to donate, please could we ask you to bring them beforehand.

Games Night 10 March 2012

Join us in the Chapter House on 10th March for a fun evening of games traditional and new, followed by a fish and chip supper. Starting at 7pm for a 7.30pm kick-off. A bar will be available selling beer wine and soft drinks. Tickets on sale in church or contact Tricia Wilson on 879529.

Junior Church Cake Stall
