June 23rd

Echo 42 Big Band with Choir

June 23rd Wesley Chapel 7.30pm.

Following the successful Jazz Mass in Ripon Cathedral in 2009 organised by Keith Hawker and featuring music from Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts, an extended choir will be repeating some of the items with Big Band Echo 42. This will be part of a concert called “Essentially Ellington” this Sunday. It is in aid of St Michael’s Hospice and is very much a concert with Keith in mind. As well as organising the service in Ripon, he both sang in St Robert’s Choir and played in Echo 42. The concert will be a very fitting tribute to remember his talents and enthusiasm as well as a contribution to a very worthy cause. Tickets are £8 available at church from Sarah or Kevin Paynes (872651) or Anita Hawker (871283) or at the concert.

Mission Partners Afternoon Tea

We have invited our mission partners at Christ Church Armley to visit us at St Robert’s on 31st July. We would very much like to be able to offer to cover their travel costs with an appeal to you for donations please (£10 would cover one adult and one child). There will be envelopes at the rear of church for any donations to go towards this.

We are having a walk/afternoon tea/games as a friendly mixed age range gathering. Please contact the office, Chrissy or Jean for further information.
