Pram Service
The Pram Service continues to be well attended. It is a service run on the second Monday of the month for pre–school age children and their parents. The children do a simple themed activity then ring the church bells. They then partake in a short service with simple songs, story and action prayers. After the service refreshments are served, children play and the mothers chat.
This year we have welcomed some new families with babies and young children. The pram service has around 20 families with approximately 25 children on the register with an average attendance being 30 mothers and toddlers.
This year has seen no changes in our leaders. As indicated in last years report I , Sarah Sharp acts as service leader . Sheilagh Wilberforce takes the story–time, and Clare Toy and Jo Wicks share the piano playing. Jean Hannam and Margaret Perkins continue to give their invaluable support and help in setting up the Chapter House and providing the refreshments. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their part in the Pram service.
In summary we see the Pram Service as an invaluable and enjoyable way of introducing worship to the youngest members of our church family and to offer fellowship and support to our young mothers. This service is a good preparation for the children to progress comfortably onto junior church.
