Children and Youth
The number of children on the Junior Church register remains high, which is very encouraging. Inevitably, with so many children, the problem of where to put them on a Sunday morning remains and we are extremely grateful that we have the use of Pannal Primary School for one of the groups. Additionally, the crèche has moved to the vestry, freeing up space in the office. We would like to extend our thanks to the PCC who recently purchased a screen for use in the Chapter House and it has proved to be an invaluable and very effective way to screen off groups.
Junior Church owes its success not only to the children who come along every week (and their parents!) but also to the committed team of Leaders, Assistant Leaders and helpers who voluntarily give up so much of their time. Thank you all very much!
We still have six different groups, determined by age/school year who meet on a Sunday morning. Each age group has typically 3 Leaders and 3 assistant Leaders who have all been CRB checked, a pre–requisite for people wishing to work with children. We are always very happy to welcome new faces to our ‘team’ whether as a leader or helper.
Being Junior Church co-ordinator was a challenging role, but the success of Junior Church has made it an enjoyable year. Junior Church would be very happy if members of the congregation could spare the time to visit them on a Sunday morning.
